Meet Epiphany Lead Residential Counselor, Toni Estacio

Lead Residential Counselor Toni Estacio cares for one of Epiphany’s newest clients.

Toni is the Lead Residential Counselor at Epiphany Center, an agency providing residential drug treatment at two sites for women and their young children. The trauma informed programs provide support in parenting, independent living, and positive communications skills. Recently named by Newsweek magazine as one of “America’s Best Addiction Treatment Programs,” the Center’s highly skilled staff address the traumatic stressors experienced by at-risk women who face addiction, homelessness, and domestic violence.

Always at the ready with a smile, a positive attitude, and a helping hand, Toni is a vital and integral part of the team at Epiphany. She is approaching her second anniversary with the agency, having gone above and beyond throughout the pandemic to empower the women to reach toward their goals on their healing journeys.

In recovery herself, Toni says, “I love my job so much. It is beautiful to see the women enter the residential recovery program, come to life, and then move on to Step-Down.” Step-Down is the Center’s transitional housing that supports women who have completed a structured residential treatment program and need additional time to strengthen their recovery while preparing for a productive life post-treatment.

Toni enjoys collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, some of whom have decades of experience.  “I didn’t realize how much and how quickly I’ve learned from my colleagues. Now, I enjoy teaching and mentoring new hires,” she says. “One of the most important things I’ve learned is about the meaning of compassion. Sister Betty Marie taught me that compassion is meeting each woman where she is at. Each woman is unique, and different levels of compassion are called for to be helpful.”

We are so grateful for Toni and her outstanding, thoughtful work! Thank you for all you do to help our families build healthier, productive, fulfilling futures.
